How It Started
A journey often begins with an exploration; such is also the story of Earthiness, which was founded by Dr Shikha Khandelwal. Diagnosed with Skin Psoriasis, Dr Shikha had limitations about the kind of personal care products she could use. Researching and understanding the varied ingredients used in these products led to some amazing findings and she started creating her own handcrafted products. As the word spread, family and friends shared similar concerns. It was either a red rash or a pimple or a week long allergy that personal care products caused. Hence, what started as a personal journey became a collective expedition towards creating Earthiness. Shikha along with like-minded individuals took it upon herself to extend the idea by creating personal care products that are long-lasting, pure, eco-friendly, not only in their form but also in the way they are delivered.

Dr. Shikha Khandelwal
Co-founder
Daughter of a doctor and an inquisitive kid by nature, Dr. Shikha Khandelwal always veered toward healing. Having found her interest in homeopathy, she believed in curing people from within. It started after the birth of her second child who was allergic to animal protein and on top of this, she started suffering from psoriasis. The immediate next step was to shift to 100% natural and chemical-free products for daily consumption. Unexpectedly, it wasn’t as easy as thought and that’s when this idea was conceptualized.
Over a period of trials and learnings, she could understand that many had similar or dormant needs but in the absence of any specific brand or product recall, exercising options seemed out of reach. That’s how Earthiness came to life in 2018. Till today she has touched thousands of lives and with her keen sense of Ayurvedic and Natural healing, she has managed to scale up in launching a wide range of products in skin, hair, and oral care. In addition to being a health nut and a nature-lover, Punit is a leading expert in the field of Digital Technologies.
Having acquired tech and management qualifications from the University of Madras, a computer science engineer, Punit went on to build data centers, payment gateways, Banking, and ERP systems, and Digital transformation roadmaps for several multinational corporates of repute.
His opportunity to chase his passion came in 2022 when his enthusiasm for natural, pure, and sustainable personal care products got him on the board to create history along with the Earthiness team.
